Our summer dance camps are designed to be a fun and exciting introduction to the wonderful world of dance. Each camp is organized around a specific child-friendly theme and designed for a specific age group. Camps have a limited number of students so that each student can receive the personalized attention he or she needs.
Sample Daily Schedule (will vary slightly each day)
11:00 Stretching; Learn Dance (#1, 2, or 3 depending on the weekday)
12:00 Lunch and a Movie: watch the moves and let the food digest
1:00 Stretching; Practice Dance (#1, 2, or 3 depending on the day)
2:30 Stretching Cool Down; Talk about the next day
3:00 Parent Pick-Up
Full-Day Camps
· 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
· Includes approximately 4 hours of dance instruction per day
· Includes instruction for 3 theme-based dances
· Includes a personalized outfit (t-shirt and accessory) for Friday’s demonstration and instruction on costume design
· Includes shoes for the dance camp (these stay at the studio during the camp but will go home with the student after the demonstration)
· Includes a healthy afternoon snack and juice
· Students bring their own sack lunches (no sodas, candy, or other sugary foods please!)
· Students need to wear clothes which are comfortable and allow full body movement for dancing or exercising. Sports/work-out clothes, loose cotton shorts or capris, and t-shirts are perfect for dance camp. No blue jeans or blue jean shorts. Hair needs to be pulled back.
· Includes a short demonstration on Friday for parents, friends, and family to come and see what we’ve been studying all week. The performance will be too cute!!!
Camp Rock and Roll June 4th – June 8th
*appropriate for ages 8-12
*rock and roll, hip-hop, and pop dance combinations
*dances adapted from the choreography of Xylina Nuckles of Standing Ovation Performing Arts of Alpharetta, Georgia
Ballerina Princess Ballet Camp June 11th – June 15th
*appropriate for ages 4-8
*ballet and lyrical dances
*theme based on Prokofiev’s Cinderella and Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty
*choreography adapted by The Dance Studio from Marius Petipa
Aliens and Monsters Dance Camp June 18th – June 22nd
*appropriate for ages 5-12
*hip-hop, pop, and 50’s style dances
*theme based on alien movies, such as Men In Black I and II, and the music video Thriller by Michael Jackson
*choreography created and adapted by The Dance Studio
Goofy Dance Camp June 25th – June 29th
*appropriate for ages 4-10
*traditional and modern funny dances
*theme is based on having lots of fun
*traditional choreography and original choreography by The Dance Studio
Enrollment Information
*tuition for a one-week camp is $150 dollars (includes instruction, costume {t-shirt, shoes, and accessories}, and snack)
*enroll in as many camps as you wish
*enrollment is limited (if the camp your child wants is full, we can put you on a wait list)
*$50 [the holding fee] is due at the time of enrollment to hold your child’s spot in the camp (this is non-refundable if you decide not to take the camp)
*$100 [the remaining balance] is due one week before camp begins (see chart below)
*spots held but not paid for by the due date will be given to students on the wait list and you will forfeit your holding fee
*include t-shirt and shoe size on the enrollment form
